Fund Raising
The
group decided that they would like to raise funds to help both existing and new patients. This would take the form
of improving the physical environment in the two isolation/treatment
rooms used to treat thyroid cancer patients with radio-active iodine at Velindre Hospital.
The
first project would be to supply more decorative bedding for use in the
rooms. This project has been completed.
The second project would be to organise the set-up of a low maintenance garden outside the windows of each room to provide a more pleasant outlook
for patients during their stay in the rooms. This has been ongoing since the middle of 2005.
The third project would be to create a mural on the wall opposite room B.
This project was completed on 28th September 2007. We are grateful to Mrs Jacqui Edwards for volunteering her artistic skills.
The fouth project is to help to refurbish one of the shower cubicles in one of the treatment rooms.
